Next Gen in the Forest

No comments:

This weekend, British Cycling are here in the heart of the Dalby Forest North Yorkshire for the 2010 World Cup Mountain Bike Championship.

The challenge for connectivity is the remoteness of the location, miles away from the nearest BT exchange, beyond the reach of ADSL and with no 3G coverage either.

Enter the NextGenUs hydraulic trailer mast...

Which reaches over 20 metres, above the tree-line, to interconnect with the existing NextGenUs North Yorkshire Next Gen Access network, located some 7 KM distant.

The service is providing 8Mbps SYMMETRIC service to competitors, officials and press, plus offering a public wifi service to visitors, with over 10000 people expected over this weekend.

Accurate reporting and great coverage from Mark Holdstock at the Yorkshire Post, Country Week Magazine over the Easter Weekend, complete with a lovely picture of Sylvia (not so sure about the bloke in the hat mind!)

Good to see that the work we have pioneered in Newton and Stape is rapidly gaining wider recognition.

A special thanks to Mr William Garrett and the pioneering work done by his local company, Beeline Broadband, in making it possible for his local community to get ahead online.

Big thanks to our partners at NYNet and the local community for helping NextGenUs fulfil its mission -
