Who Pays Wins

Broadband certainly brings out the Green eyed monsters, greedy people who want to line their own pockets at the expense of the community.

What gets forgotten in all this avarice is who actually pays the bills for broadband!

Whilst there is nothing wrong with for-profit companies, there is plenty amiss when those charged with directing not-for-profit social enterprises seek to destroy from within by misappropriating stock, disrupting the very networks they have an unquestionable fiduciary duty to protect to the best of their abilities and look to break up community broadband networks in collusion with outsiders all intent on personal financial gain.

The NextGenUs model was from the outset designed to prevent the community being abused through the application of the Asset Lock and the wider community interest test and this raises an important point that each and every customer around the UK should urgently consider.

The CIC (Community Interest Company) legal framework provides for the protected transfer of network assets from one CIC to another and if you think that your interests will be better served by keeping the protections that CICs offer then NOW IS THE TIME TO CONTACT THE CIC REGULATOR and let your views be known.

If you want to own your own broadband network on a one member one vote basis then make your views know here http://www.bis.gov.uk/cicregulator/contact/general-enquiries

Do nothing and you may well find that you are stuck with a service operated by people who care nothing about the community - the choice is yours folks!
